Celebrity contributors to The PEACE Fund

History has shown that the involvement of celebrities, be they actors, musicians, artists, sportsmen and women, politicians - people in the pubic eye - can make a vast difference to the efforts of charities and fundraising groups. Their contribution of time, effort, memorabilia or monies can spur and inspire others and helps bring a focus and attention to a cause that is often desperately needed in this media-rich era.

David Abramowitz

David Abramowitz

Writer, Creative Consultant: David Abramowitz served as Creative Consultant and head writer for Highlander: The Series and Highlander: The Raven, and more recently finished the final rewrite for the upcoming 2006 feature film Highlander: The Source. Other television successes include V, MacGyver, 21 Jump Street, Jake and the Fatman, and Queen of Swords (also as executive producer). Recent projects include a film called AKA (with fellow Highlander scribe James Thorpe) due to begin production later this year in New Brunswick, Canada, with several other projects currently in negotiations. .

Xander Berkeley

Actor: Xander Berkeley has a reputation for playing men of ambiguous character. He has starred in countless movies including Air Force One with Harrison Ford, Apollo 13, directed by Ron Howard, Candyman and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. More recently he has portrayed the role of George Mason in the hit series 24. In September 2002 he married his co-star on 24, Sarah Clarke, who played Nina Myers.

Jonathan Breck

Actor: Before getting into acting, Jonathan Breck was earning a living in medical sales. Pursuing his dream of becoming an actor, he headed west to Los Angeles and after three years landed a role on the remake of I Married A Monster. Jonathan appeared as a guest on Star Trek: Voyager and JAG before before landing the role of The Creeper in the Francis Ford Coppola-produced horror movies Jeepers Creepers and its sequel, Jeepers Creepers 2.

Actor and Musician: Jim Byrnes is a multi-talented actor, singer, song-writer, narrator and all-round inspiration. His acting portrayals range from Wiseguy to a long-recurring and much- loved role in Highlander. His filmography includes Drive She Said, Masterminds, Whale Music and The Net. Jim's musical talent was steeped in the best of the Mississippi blues - a talent recognized by peers and fans alike with a multitude of awards. He has lived in Vancouver for the past 30 years and still tours extensively and tirelessly.

Charisma Carpenter

Charisma Carpenter

Actress: Being cast as uber-bitch Ashley Green on the Aaron Spelling-produced series Malibu Shores was perhaps to prove exceptionally fortuitous for Charisma, as the role preceded her being signed on as uber-bitch (who turns nice) Cordelia Chase in the highly successful and popular series Buffy, The Vampire Slayer. Her role on Buffy was transferred over to the spin-off, Angel.

Erika Eleniak

Erika Eleniak

Actress: Erika started her film career at an early age as a model for children's clothing in TV commercials, and as an adolescent, with an uncredited role in the Steven Spielberg sci-fi blockbuster E.T. before moving on to the TV series Charles in Charge. In 1989 Erika did a photo shoot for Playboy magazine and appeared on two covers, in the same year landing a role on Baywatch as the lead female character until 1992. She left the series and then appeared in the successful Steven Seagal film Under Seige, and the following year she was Ellie May in the film version of The Beverly Hillbillies.

Elvira / Cassandra Petersen

Actress: The creation of Cassandra Petersen, a native of Colorado who, at the age of 17, became the youngest showgirl in Las Vegas history. In the late '70s she joined the satiric improvisational troupe, The Groundlings, which also produced such notables as Phil Hartman and Jon Lovitz. While film and television roles followed, they were scarce... until 1981 when she created her alter-ego, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She has since been playing herself in many film and television shows.

Robert Englund

Actor: He has numerous TV guest credits to his name, including early '70s and '80s shows like MacGyver, CHiPS, Charlie's Angels and the sci-fi series V, and more recent shows like Babylon 5, Sliders and Charmed. He has multiple film credits as well, many of them in the genre of the film series he is best known for - The Nightmare on Elm Street films, the first of which was directed by well-known horror film director Wes Craven. As Freddy Kreuger, Robert Englund has earned a place in horror film history.

Lou Ferrigno

Actor and Bodybuilder: Lou Ferrigno was only 21 when he won his first Mr. Universe title. Lou created a new cult legend as the title character of the hit show The Incredible Hulk. He's starred in over twenty feature films including Cage and Cage II, And God Spoke, Seven Magnificent Gladiators, and Hercules and The Adventures of Hercules. All this led to an amazingly successful personal training business and led him to author the book Lou Ferrigno's Guide to Personal Power, Bodybuilding and Fitness. Actress: A former Miss America (1982), Elizabeth made her film debut in the Charlie Sheen film Three For The Road. Guest appearances followed, the most prominent being her recurring role in Highlander as Amanda, friend and sometimes trouble-maker for Adrian Paul's Duncan MacLeod. This role led to her starring in the spin-off series, Highlander: The Raven. Her other screen credits include the Steven Segal movie Marked For Death, as well as more recent guest roles on Queen of Swords and Charmed.

Jorge Garcia

Jorge Garcia

Actor: From high school wrestler to successful stand-up comedian to a part in one of the most successful television phenomena in years, Jorge Garcia has done it all. He was the very first actor to have been cast on ABC's hit series Lost, and got his showbiz start in an old Mr. T music video. Jorge sings in the band Lost Souls with Lost co-star Matthew Fox and loves living in Hawaii where the series is filmed.

Actor: Originally headed for politics after graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in political science, Stan rediscovered an early passion for acting during his junior year at Duke University. After graduating he headed for New York to pursue acting. Theatre and television credits followed, and Stan eventually won the co-starring role as Richie on Highlander: The Series. Actor: Christophe Lambert first came to the world's notice when director Hugh Hudson chose him to play the lead role in the re-worked version of the original Tarzan movies, Greystoke, The Legend of Tarzan. He followed that role with Luc Besson's Subway which earned him the French Cesar award for Best Actor. He is, of course, widely known as the first Highlander, Connor MacLeod, from the original Highlander movie (with Sean Connery) and its sequels.

Actor: Ron Perlman is a classically trained actor who has appeared in countless stage plays. In a career spanning three decades and crossing film, television and stage, he has worked with such diverse actors as Marlon Brando, Sean Connery, Cameron Diaz, Brad Dourif, John Hurt, Jude Law, and Elijah Wood. Actor: Though playing iconic roles both big (King Kong) and small (Gollum) for director Peter Jackson launched Andy Serkis into the limelight, the London-born thespian has a long list of film, television and stage credits. Actor: Star Trek fans were singing Brent's praises long before he won a Saturn Award in 1997 for his performance as Mr. Data in Star Trek: First Contact, a role he originated on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Garrett Wang

Actor: Garrett, in his first performance outside of college, garnered unprecedented critical acclaim for his portrayal of John Lee in the lead of Chay Yew's Porcelain at Burbage Theater. Despite a busy schedule, Garrett has continued to perform in various staged readings such as Model Minority for the Los Angeles Theater Center, Woman Warrior for the Mark Taper Forum and A Language of Their Own for the Intiman Theater. He is best known for his role as Ensign Harry Kim on the successful sci-fi series Star Trek: Voyager.

Carl Weathers

Carl Weathers

Actor, Sportsman: Before he got into the acting gig, Carl Weathers was a successful professional footballer at San Diego State before playing with the Oakland Raiders. He retired from the sport in 1974 to focus on his first love - acting. A few small roles came his way, but in 1976 he hit it big with his role as Apollo Creed, Sylvester Stallone's nemesis in the highly successful Rocky series of films. Further films followed, with a supporting role in the Schwarzenegger film Predator, and later as the lead in the film Action Jackson. More recently he appeared with Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky.

Actor: Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than etc. Tom Welling is Superman - the young one from the very successful series Smallville. Tom's career started in modeling, but after a few years on the road decided that acting was a greater passion. He got his first major break through a long arc appearance on Judging Amy. The role of Clark Kent followed after a nationwide search for a new face to play the superhero. In 2003 he appeared in the big screen film Cheaper By The Dozen, and later in the sequel, as well as a remake of the horror film The Fog.

Musician and Singer: You don't have to have lived through the '60s era to know of Brian's music and his contribution to rock- and-roll history. With his brothers Dennis and Carl, and with cousin Mike Love, he formed The Beach Boys and set in motion a music career that would span over 50 years. Still touring and performing with the likes of Neil Young, Sheryl Crow, and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Brian Wilson's concerts are still drawing the crowds in. Supervising Sound Editor and Voice Actor: Matthew has been bringing digital technology to the forefront of filmmaking for over ten years. He joined Skywalker Sound in 1991 and honed his skills - and received appropriate recognition - for his work on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and films such as Con Air, Eraser and Volcano. Serving as Supervising Sound Editor for the recent Star Wars trilogies, he also took a side-step and performed the vocals for the character of General Grievous.

Actor: One of the most respected film and stage actors of all time, Michael York has portrayed everyone from Musketeer D'Artagnan to Austin Powers' boss. He co-starred with Adrian Paul in the 2004 action thriller Moscow Heat and wrote a book called Are My Blinkers Showing?
